Meet Elysse

I believe the loss and grief I have experienced in my life set me forth on a path of healing for myself and others. My heart has a well of empathy, and what more does the innocence of childhood need than empathy. The death of both my father and mother sparked a call to contribute to mothering and caring for human beings in need.

Being the daughter of a pioneering home birth dula, I was raised in a home where people were cared for deeply and with ancient wisdom. My mother was a lover of alternative healing. At a young age, I remember having acupuncture, and laying with needles. I took my first reiki class at age 17. The healing arts felt naturally part of my life. At age 23 I was certified in massage. After years of working in the massage world, I wanted to grow in other areas of healing.

I became a mother at age 26, and when my son was 5, I became inspired to work with youth. In 2020 while working with teen youth in a crisis prevention facility, I experienced a day in a nature program and was deeply inspired by a teacher. She told a beautiful story she had learned by heart, as the children listened attentively in a grassy meadow. There were no desks and the children were learning primitive skills on the land. Very soon after, I started a Waldorf inspired certified training for early childhood called Lifeways.

From 2020 to 2024, I contributed to many alternative educational programs in our local community. I assisted and taught for an early childhood program called Madrone Grove. Madrone Grove emphasized age-appropriate conflict resolution, helping children develop empathy, self-awareness, and tools for navigating social interactions. As a nature enriched program, Madrone Grove took place in a yurt in the middle of a 200 year old Madrone grove. Engaging children in learning through nature is something I continue to love in my work.

In 2024 Honey Song was born as a culmination of all my experience teaching. Here I create a safe sanctuary for children rooted in small group connection, reverence, protecting and preserving innocence, and encouraging the child’s connection to nature.

Additionally, I currently co-lead in a local program for girls ages 7-10 to build healthy relationships with the natural world and each other based in nature called Wild Heart.
